A.     General Policy – The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (“Bank”) manages this blog to provide a forum for discussing how various Bank employees approach their work, as a way of making what the Bank does more open to the public.  We encourage comments.  Your ideas and concerns are important to ensure that a broad range of Americans are active and informed participants in how the Bank’s work gets done.  This blog will discuss topics that educate, inform, explain, raise awareness about the Bank and its mission, and generate dialogue with the public.  This blog use policy is subject to amendment or modification at any time to ensure the blog’s continued use is consistent with its intended purpose as a limited forum.  By accessing this blog, you understand that you download from, or otherwise obtain content or services through, Edulogs at your own discretion and risk.  The Bank makes no guarantee that your use of this blog will be error free or that access thereto will be continuous or uninterrupted.

B.     Posting Policy – You are encouraged to share your comments, ideas, and concerns.  This is a moderated blog.  The Bank will review all comments before posting them.  The Bank will not post comments that contain abusive, vulgar, offensive, threatening or harassing language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups.  The Bank will not post comments that are clearly off-topic, that promote services or products, or that promote or oppose any political party, person campaigning for elected office, or any ballot proposition.  As this blog is not intended to be used for contracting or commercial business with the Bank, please do not submit as comments business proposals or other business inquiries.  Gratuitous links to sites are viewed as spam and may result in a comment being removed.  Communications made through the blog in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to the Bank or any official or employee of the Bank for any purpose.   In posting his or her own comments or other work to the blog, a commenter grants the Bank and anyone viewing the blog irrevocable permission to copy, distribute, make derivates, display or perform the commenter’s work publicly and free-of-charge.  Moderation and posting of comments will generally occur only during the Bank’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

C.     Product References in Blog – Any references to commercial entities, products, services or other nongovernmental organizations or individuals that are included in this blog are provided solely for the information of individuals using this blog.  These references are not intended to reflect the opinion of the Bank, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (“Board of Governors”), other banks within the Federal Reserve System, or their respective officers or employees concerning the significance, priority, or importance to be given to the referenced entity, product, service, or organization.  Such references should not be understood to constitute official or personal endorsements of any product, person, or service.  Such references may not be quoted or reproduced for the purpose of stating or implying that the Bank, the Board of Governors, or other banks within the Federal Reserve System endorse or approve of any product, person, or service.

D.     Linking Policy – This blog may include useful hypertext links or pointers to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations and individuals’ blogs.  This blog provides these links and pointers solely for information and convenience of those using this blog.

When a user of this blog selects a link to an outside website, he or she is leaving this blog and is subject to the privacy and security policies of the owner or sponsor of the outside website.  Hyperlinks to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations should not be construed as an endorsement of the views or privacy policies contained on those linked pages.

E.     Copyright Information – Links to this blog are welcomed.  Unless a copyright is indicated, information on this blog is in the public domain and may be copied and distributed without permission.  Citation to the Bank as the source of the information is appreciated.

If a copyright is indicated on a video, photo, graphic, or other work, permission to copy that work must be obtained from the original source.

F.     Public Affairs – Reporters must submit questions to the Bank’s Media Relations office through normal query channels and refrain from submitting questions on this blog as comments.  The Bank will not post questions known to be from reporters.  The Media Relations office may be contacted at (415) 977-3853.

G.     Privacy – The Bank will not share or sell any personal information obtained from users with any other organization or government agency except as required by law.  To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers, email addresses, or other personal information in the body of comments you post to this blog.

This blog is unable to post comments from children under the age of 13 pursuant to the Children’s Online Privacy Protect Act.  If you are 12 years old or younger, you may email us at econed@sf.frb.org rather than positing a comment on this blog.

H.     Notices – This blog acts, in part, as a portal for information from the Bank.  However, information posted on this blog is not official policy of the Bank and will in no way grant anyone any rights, privileges, or standing on any matter.  This blog may not be used for the submission of any claim, demand, informal or formal complaint, or any other form of legal and/or administrative notice of process, or for the exhaustion of any legal and/or administrative remedy.
